Building on a Strong Foundation Since 1933
Our story begins in the heart of the Great Depression. In 1933, Joseph Day founded Jos. Day Inc. with a simple commitment to quality craftsmanship and honest work. Operating out of Cincinnati’s west side, Joseph established a reputation for reliability in general contracting, specializing in poured block foundations and concrete flatwork during one of the toughest economic eras in American history.
A Pivot to Precision. By the early 1950s, the construction landscape was changing, and Joseph Day was ready to innovate. In April 1953, he discovered "Rocforms," a cutting-edge wood panel formwork system. Recognizing the potential of this new technology, he made a strategic decision to split the business. While the original company continued its excellence in flatwork, a new entity was born: Day Precision Wall, Inc. Dedicated exclusively to vertical concrete and foundations, Day Precision Wall set a new standard for durability and accuracy in the region.
A Family Effort. As the company grew, it became a true family endeavor. The leadership expanded to include the second generation, bringing together different branches of the Day family. Joseph’s son, Lawrence Day, and Joseph’s cousin, James (Jim) Day, stepped into key leadership roles. Together, they helped solidify the company's standing in the Cincinnati construction industry, ensuring that the values of the founder were preserved across the family tree.
The Legacy Continues. Today, Day Precision Wall remains proudly family-owned and operated. In 2010, the leadership transitioned to the third generation when Brad Day took over as General Manager. Operating out of our headquarters in Cleves, Ohio, Brad continues to uphold the standards set by his grandfather, his father, and his extended family. From complex commercial projects to the residential foundations that support Cincinnati families, we are proud to carry our history into the future—one wall at a time.
